Proposal and experimental verification of additive manufactured beam‐column connection designed by topological optimization

چکیده

Abstract The aim of this research is to provide an alternative for the conventional design beam‐to‐column connections in building structures. new performed by means Structural Topological Optimization and executed additive manufacturing with steel. Regarding methodology, joint that would be manufactured methods (i.e. welded bolted plates) modelled finite elements first place. Its behavior obtained, as well boundary conditions loads applied part going optimized. Subsequently, a solid defined optimized optimization module TOSCA. Then, complete simulated connection, weight material used are compared those joint. Some modifications made improve some aspects design. Afterwards, printed steel S316L, connection assembled columns beams, it tested. experimental results analyzed able make necessary adjustments both methodology.
